Medium vs Tumblr Comparing the Popular Blogging Platform - Blogging platforms like Blogger and WordPress is the most used platform for years. There are at least two blogging platforms are slightly higher, namely Tumblr.com and Medium.com.
You've probably heard that Tumblr is preferred by the teenage bloggers, while the Medium more used by people who work in the tech industry and the media. That may be true, but the second certainly this blogging platform including the trendiest social publishing site and fastest growing at this time.
Although the two blogging platforms are used for the same purpose, the two are very different when you compare some of the best qualities from each platform. The following is a comparison of some of the main qualities that exist on both this blogging platform.

How People Use It?
Tumblr: a blogging Platform that is very visual. People use it to share personal photos, group photos, animated GIFs, and videos. Postings in the form of text are also quite often used in Tumblr, but the Visual content was an excess of this platform.
User Tumbr rather do reblog posts from other users, and add their own notes on the caption. Some popular posts can get hundreds of thousands of reblog and also conversation left by other users in these postings.
Medium: recognized as the highest quality publishing platform. Some talented writers are using the Medium as a medium for writing, composing the content of research results is detailed, even a personal story. The user Medium can't do the "reblog" postings from others as in Tumblr, but they can hit the heart icon to recommend a content.
The medium is somewhat similar to Twitter, and many bloggers share their postings there.
Do you want more visual content as it post the photos, videos, and GIF? If Yes, Tumblr may be the best choice for you. But if you want to post more content in the form of text, then the Medium is probably the best choice.

Tumblr: you can design the look of your blog using one of the free or premium themes, and customize it to your liking. If you have coding skill, you can even do the settings further. There are thousands of Tumblr themes available and can make your blog look like a professional site, complete with sidebars, social media buttons, special page, the comment column, and more.
Medium: typical of the Medium is a very clean and minimal with very limited features. Not like Tumblr, you cannot install a new theme with music, or sidebars, menu to change the overall look. Medium blog design looks very similar to Twitter. You can put up a profile picture, the cover photo, a brief description of the bio will be displayed on your blog, that's it.
Do you want to have a blog that had a lot of customization options and a unique theme design? If Yes, then you are fit to use Tumblr. But if you're not too concerned about the design and prefer the look clean and minimalist blog, then you are fit to use the Medium.

Tumblr: known by different types of multimedia posts. You can make posts that specifically display text, images, links, chat dialog, audio or video files.
Tumblr has also just introduced the Medium format-like features, which you can access by pressing the plus sign (+) when you write a post, or by highlighting any text. You can save drafts of posts, and arrange them in a queue to be posted in the selected time period.
Medium: known as the formatting features easy and intuitive (who recently emulated by Tumblr). Click the plus sign (+) when you create a new post to add photos, videos, links or to break up the paragraphs. Highlight any text to set the style or paragraph headings, add quote, set alignment or add links.
The draft will be saved automatically and you can click to share it as a draft if you want input or edits from someone before you publish it.

Tumblr: user Dashboard is where all the magic happens. If you follow my other blogs, you can scroll all you like, reblogging, and reply to post from the dashboard.
"Notes", which represents all of the love and reattach the post, could reach the hundreds of thousands as they passed through it and reach out to quite a lot of users. You can also contact someone privately, either as themselves or anonymously, and submit the posting to other blogs to display if they enable that option.
Medium: you can not reblog posts Medium, you can however recommend it so that they appear in your profile and in the home feed people who follow you. When you point your mouse to the paragraph, you will see a small plus sign (+) appears to the right, you can press to leave a note or comment.

Features Of Mobile Applications
Tumblr: blogging applications so far this Tumblr is the most powerful. Most of the activity of the Tumblr comes from mobile devices, including posts and interactions.
Very similar to Tumblr Twitter applications, but with the visual features of the postings and more. You can do many things through mobile applications Tumblr as well as you can do on the web version.
Medium: Intended for browsing only, but this could change in the future. You can view your home feed, top story, and your bookmarks.
Currently there is no Medium in the function to make the posting from mobile applications, but you can still interact with the following other users, recommend a posting and share it. Mobile applications of the medium is also only available for iOS devices for a while.
Conclusion
Both the blogging platform has its advantages and disadvantages of each. As previously mentioned, Tumblr is more likely to be favored by young children who love the visual content. While the Medium is preferred by professional writers and also those who work in the media industry.
